Beauty | My Duty Free Purchase | Clarins Travel Exclusive Pack

I recently came back from a holiday to Costa Brava with one of my Besties. We had an amazing 5 days in the hot climate with plenty of Sangria consumed! On our way back to the UK, we had to wait in the airport for around 5 hours due to the limited transfer times Vs how many euros I had left. Oops! Anyway, I am such a sucker for duty free. I'm the type of girl who will factor this into my post checking in time. I love browsing around the airport. Geek!

Looking around, I had to hold restraint when I came across the Clarins products. I've had samples of their products in the past and loved them, but I was always put off by the price tag. I ended up walking away with technically once purchase, but 5 miniature items. This is the Clarins Travel Exclusive Pack purchased for £32 at the Duty Free Shop.

A quick look at what's inside:
  • One Step Facial Cleaner with Orange Extract 100ml
  • HydraQuench Cream for Normal to Dry Skin 50ml
  • Beauty Flash Balm 50ml
  • Moisture - Rich Body Lotion with Shea Butter for Dry Skin
  • Eye Contour Gel
My original impulse was to purchase the HydraQuench Cream and the Beauty Flash Balm at full size. However, the blogger side of my was saying "Rachel, you haven't read up on these products, get samples!!!". I spent some more time browsing before I picked up the Travel Exclusive pack. Also, I was saving some pennies. Here's an overview into the products inside:

One Step Facial Cleaner with Orange Extract
Firstly, it smells beautiful. This product is a great cleaner for taking off your make up. I use it more for pre-cleaning eye make up off my face mainly. It's a 'doublephased' cleaner (oil and water solutions to mixed together) that is kind to the skin removing light make up, general everyday dirt. Shake the bottle well before use. Then soak a cotton pad and dab all over your face to break down all dirt and make up. Use the other side of the pad smooth over face. There is no need to rinse, though I like to give my face a quick splash to remove residue. Great for dry skin types like me!

HydraQuench Cream for Normal to Dry Skin
After using the cleaner, I follow up with this lovely moisturising cream. It is light and silky that's smooth to apply leaving a light feel on the skin. I suffer from dry - to extreme dry skin. This is perfect for me to use during the summer months. However, I don't think it's as enriching as more other dry moisturisers I've used. It does absorb into skin very quickly. I did not need to wait for it to 'sink in' before applying my make up. I would recommended for people with dry skin!

Beauty Flash Balm 50ml
One of Carins best sellers! Prior to purchasing, I had seen and read so many reviews on this little beaut. Most reviews I've found online are mainly 5/5 stars. It's received aloads of rewards and accolades for being the Best Beauty Buy of 2013 for several companies. This is been branded as the "ultimate pick-me-up for tired, stressed skin". This product is targeted at reducing the look of fatigue. I do agree with the claims; it brightens the appearance of dull looking skin. It also had extracts of Olive and Witch Hazel that aims to improves the skins surface. I apply this before make up as a primer.

Moisture - Rich Body Lotion with Shea Butter for Dry Skin
Out of the whole batch, this is my favourite product so far. I am even tempted to purchase the full sized version for £30!!!! For a bloody body cream! What?! It smells DEVINE!!!! Both my Bestie and I loved the scent and feel of this on our skin. It has peach, shea butter, candlenut oil and orange. It sooths dry patches and improves overall skin tone. Check! I loved using this and I'm sad the 30ml size didn't last me that long. It absorbs fairly quickly so there was no waiting around for it to dry before getting dressed.

Eye Contour Gel
This is my least favourite product of the pack. It claims to minimise the look of puffiness and dark circles—refreshing, hydrating and resting the delicate skin around eyes". To be honest, I didn't feel a difference in using this product. Maybe it just wasn't for me. It was good for preparation and great for applying before using eye makeup. But I don't think it helped to make me look less tired.

Do you enjoy using Clarins products? What would you recommend I try next?
