As the Autumn season comes closer, my skin often goes
through (what I have dubbed) “the change”. Every year, I am always in the
marketing for a good moisturiser and serum to combat the very dry I develop as
a result of the colder months. This, combined with mild acne skin, can make the
search quite difficult and sometimes laborious.
So, as I continue my search for that ‘all time comfort food’
for my face, I came across a vast majority of reviews for the La Roche Rosay Effaclar Duo, including those from beauty ‘Youtubers’ I watch for inspiration. Then,
before I know it, a tube of this stuff appeared in my basket in Boots one
Saturday afternoon.
Now, it’s part of my skincare routine. I use it day and night for the best results. Any red, irritated spots I got on my cheeks and chin have almost disappeared. I still have some scarring and hyper pigmentation but it’s nothing that a light foundation would not cover. It can be rather powerful on my skin and to ensure that this does not make my skin any dryer, I use my Nivea day cream to give it a gentle boost. And it has worked! I am so pleased with the results
The product comes in a small tube with a gel like formula
and cost around £13 from Boots. The packaging
is simple and the application is easy. It’s an all over facial treatment though
you can use it to target specific area, such as your chin or nose, like I did
to begin with. I would recommend doing a patch test with this just in case this
is not the right product for you. It has
a light, non-sticky consistency without a powerful fragrance. I take 2 pea sized
blobs to begin with; rub it between my fingers, then pat over the areas I want
to treat. Afterwards I apply a normal moisturiser and hey presto! Sorted.
It’s important to establish a good routine for your
skincare. I loved using my Liz Earle products but I wanted to strip back what I
was spending and find something more affordable for the time being. It is recommended for people with oily skin. However, I use this
in conjunction with Neutrogena products that combat the mild acne, and then use
a good moisturiser to tackle my weather skin. And these work together marvelously.
If you are looking for something that will help reduce the
redness and clear up spots then this could be the product for you. If you have
any tips/ routines/ experiences with the Effalar Duo then I’d love to hear about
them! I can honestly say that this has improved my skin dramatically. Better
than creams prescribed from my doctor.
