Just a quick review:
Tap tap tap! I love that noise. You either love or get annoyed that it. That's right. That sound of long finger nails tapping away on a keyboard or table. False nails are a beauty accessory that are always handy to have around.
My nails never look nice. I have resigned to the fact that they will never grow how I want them to. So, I am after a quick fix. And, with a Hen Party coming up next weekend these are just what I need. In the past, I have used drug store false nails before and I like using them. For years, I have always relied on Elegant Touch to do the job.
Elegant Touch have recently updated their branding. Must say, it looks better in my opinion!
I picked up his set of false nails from Super Drug for about £6. These one's have a french manicure, white tip finish that have a pink tint for a natural look.
These nails have been treated with 'UV Gel Technology' to ensure that they are chip resistant. Hmmmm, we will see. I will post a photo updated later on this week.
What's inside the pack?
24 nails in 10 different sizes, nail glue, a buffer and an instruction booklet.
The range of nail lengths vary from long to extra short. For practically, I always pick short. The sizes available are versatile. I would imagine that they would fit most people. My advise would be to pick out of 'try on' each nail and put aside the nails that much your size. Make a left and right hand side so you know which nail fits which finger. Sounds simple, but you will be amazed at how many people I see to start sticking them on and realizing they've picked the wrong one.
The glue comes in a pen like applicator that you use to apply a thin layer. Then you simply out the nail on and press down for around 3-5 seconds. Hey presto!
It's amazing how nice looking nails give you confidence. The quality of the nails are brilliant and give a clean, professional finish.
Now, these are supposed to last for up to 10 days. Previously, when I have used these they don't and I find them at the plug hole of my shower. So, the one criticism I would give is must have stronger, water resistant glue!!!
If you're sticking something onto your nails with glue - you have to accept that it's going to cause some damage. After you take these off with an acetone based remover, use a nail buffing block to buff away tried on glue and use a good cuticle oil and hand cream for dry hands to help your nails replenish last oils.
The worst thing you can doit bite and pulled them off. Urgh, it makes me cringe to think/write about it. Yuk! Just don't do it! The amount of damage you cause to your nail is bad!!
As you can probably guess, I will carry on re-purchasing these in the future. They are my quick fix to shabby looking nails.
