They Say:
“This perfectly balanced moisturiser softens, smoothes and conditions skin for a naturally healthy-looking glow. Rich in natural actives, including borage oil (a rich source of the essential fatty acid GLA) and natural antioxidants beta-carotene and vitamin E to replace lost moisture and help protect against dryness.”
My Review:
Winter gives my skin a brutal beating and zaps every last drop of moisturiser. Between the central heating, sub-zero temperatures and windy days my skin is constantly defending itself and becomes sensitive. At this time of year my mild acne is at it’s worst and almost every moisturiser I’ve try doesn’t seen to help.
I came across this product as a test sample that was sent in an order from Liz Earle back in October and I took it to Paris in November (simply because it was an ideal size for my hand luggage). It was love at first sight (…I know, slightly cliche but so true).
I have dry combination skin that’s sensitive. The driest areas are my forehead and chin. Often, I suffer from really bad break outs constantly if I do not wear a sufficient moisturiser. So, every year I try to tailor my skin care routine to suit the time of year and failed until now. Alas! I’ve finally found something on the market that works for me. The only thing I’m not keen on is the price. At £18.75, you can either buy this as a jar or tube of moisturiser.
So when I got back from Paris I bought a full sized pot (50ml) and its the only moisturiser I trust to keep my dry skin at bay. The texture is thick and creamy with a rich consistency. I take about a 5p sized amount into my hands, lightly rub between fingers and massage into my face starting with my forehand, cheeks and chin.
Quickly, it sinks into the skin and the result leaves you with smooth, soft skin. Whilst this hasn’t cured my acne (…and not that it claims too) I have found it is soothing enough to cool the dry skin and leave it looking more dewy throughout the day. A good all-rounder that can be used both day and night.
