After 3 months of unsubscribing from Glossybox I’ve decided to rejoined the beauty craze. This time I subscribed to the September box after reading so many great reviews about the quality of products in this months box. Sold! Since my last visit, I was pleased to see that Glossybox have updated the website with new style and format to their site. Love it! It’s cleaner and easier to navigate with quick links to stuff you really need to know. Thumbs up so far.
This post won’t be about reviewing the box or products themselves but just to show a glimpse what items I received in this months box.
The box is focused around ‘rising stars’ in beauty right now. Geared up towards London Fashion Week, Glossybox has asked an ‘up and coming’ illustrator Maggi Li to create a theme around fashion and beauty. I really like the simpleness to the designs. When I opened package I was happy to see an exclusive designed box that’s different from previous ‘exclusive’ box.
The Products
- balanceMe Wonder Eye Cream
- Maghrabian Hair Oil Treatment
- Vichy Idealia Day Care Cream
- Rodial Glamoxy Snake Serum x2 1ml and 5 minute facial x2 1ml
- Lady Gaga Fame Perfume 2ml
One of the reasons why I unsubscribed from Glossybox wasn’t due to the standard of products, but the lack of consideration for the suitability of products for me. Although I am pleased with the quality of products, I’m still slightly annoyed. Why? Because why would I want to use ‘snake serum’ at 23 years of age? Why send me a moisturiser for normal/ combination skin when I told them I had dry/ sensitive skin?? Grrrr! Still not getting somethings right.
However, I am excited to try the Maghrabian hair oil and the Rodial 5 minute facial. Both brands I have never come across before. With the central heating being cranked up and cold weather setting in my hair could do with a treatment right now so this has been timed nicely. In addition, I’ve just had a quick sniff of the Lady Gaga perfume which is growing on me. It’s a sweet, floral fragrance that’s heavy. Definitely a going out perfume. All products will be reviewed at a later date.
I’m always open to try new products. That’s the whole point of subscribing to beauty boxes. I like the concept and it’s encouraging for the beauty market. So, I will keep going and hopefully they will, as promised, try harder to tailer boxes. I’m not naive to think that every product in the box would be right first time but I would of preferred the hair care products that were also on offer. Again, I know it’s also down to the availability of each product but if I’m going to spend £12.95 per month on this subscription, I’d like to at be able to try the product rather then passing it onto someone else. Hmmmm, food for thought.
